NCOA’s Innovative Aging Mastery Program Receives Grant from NextFifty Initiative

Arlington, VA – December 3, 2019 — NextFifty Initiative has awarded the National Council on Aging (NCOA) a grant to establish a sustainable service delivery network with the capacity to provide the Aging Mastery Program® to older adults across Colorado. The Colorado-based foundation’s support will allow NCOA to advance its effort to support those fifty and older.

“We are thrilled that the Aging Mastery Program, which is designed to educate people about what to expect as they age and how to make small changes that can have lasting effects on their long-term health and economic security, has received this grant,” said Jim Firman, president and CEO of NCOA. “With the foundation’s support, we can now expand access to this program to more older adults in Colorado.”

NCOA is one of 32 organizations chosen in this latest funding cycle to receive a grant through NextFifty Initiative’s competitive application and review process.

“Our commitment to positively influencing the way individuals view and experience aging continues to inform the type of unique ideas, programs, and organizations that we fund,” said Diana McFail, acting CEO of NextFifty Initiative. “We see the National Council on Aging’s work in the aging space as an embodiment of our efforts to create a more positive and enlightened approach to aging. We offer our support and congratulations to NCOA.”
