In at least half of the states, LTC homes are shielded to varying degrees from civil liability for COVID-19 claims. As Minnesotans are waiting to see whether the state will grant legal immunity to LTC homes, in effect, extensive COVID-19 liability shields are already in place. This fact, which does not receive adequate attention in the media, is addressed in this blog post.
